Sri Satya Sai Government Degree College, Bukkapatnam, came into existence with the divine blessings of Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba. The efforts of Sri Late R.V.Janaki Ramaiah, brother of Sri Satya Sai Baba and the then member of Sri Satya Sai Central Trust and Sri G.V.Satyanarayana, a freedom fighter and social worker are highly commendable and the college owes a lot to these two personalities forever for its existence. These two great personalities went round the nook and corner of the surrounding villages and stressed the need to have an UG college at Bukkapatnam. At their behest, many an inhabitant of the villages contributed an amount of Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees two lakhs) for the payment of corpus-fund for the establishment of an UG college.
